Hackers delete popular YouTube videos including Despacito. But all videos were restored by YouTube soon after

[update] The videos now have been restored by YouTube. Read what really happened below.

If you don’t know despacito is the world’s most watched video with over 5 billion views, but unfortunately it has been deleted from YouTube in suspected hack.

TheVerge reported malicious activity with the video data such as the video thumbnail was altered and replaced with a masked gang holding guns, the description of the video was changed as well, and then the official Despacito video went missing. This hack was carried out by group calling themselves Prosox and Kuroi’sh, and they’ve apparently hacked the video sharing platform “just for fun.”

More such high profile videos were unlisted and some delete including videod of artists Chris Brown, DJ Snake, Shakira Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and many more. Looks like the target was music videos as they tend to get more views on YouTube.
