Epic just announced their plans for fortnite’s esports future. The fortnite world cup will be held next year they announced with details at E3. Although the entire competition prize is $100 million, it will be spread out to several organized events, online events, and major organized competitions all over the world. So yes, no single player or team is getting the entire $100 million prize.
“Fortnite World Cup play will focus on Solos and Duos, but there’ll be plenty of opportunities to squad-up in competition, too.” Epic games said and also stated that ” Qualifications for the Fortnite World Cup will be based on merit. Epic will not be selling teams or franchises, and won’t allow third-party leagues to do so either.”
Qualifiers will be starting fall this year. You can read the entire official blog here. That’s all that they revealed now, there’s no schedule announced, no rules stated. Well, we will see how it pans out.
